Russian Bachelor’s programme

Course outline, qualifications and competences

The bachelor’s programme Russian encompasses practical language studies and three other scientific areas conveying the language, culture and literature of Russian-speaking regions. Students are trained in the following subject areas: linguistics (structure, functions, varieties of the target language); literature (history of literature, theory and methods of analysis, oral popular literature, journalism, TV, film and Internet); cultural science (historical, social, political and cultural development, artifacts, cultural theories and methods). This programme conveys specific knowledge and scientific skills for working with traditional and new media to collect information. Students are trained to act and think independently, responsibly and critically. It is recommended to spend a period of time studying in a Russian-speaking region during this programme. The experience of other cultural and social circumstances promotes abilities such as troubleshooting competences and the ability to communicate on an intercultural level.
