Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine Master's programme
The master’s programme Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine is offered as part of a NAWI Graz co-operation programme between the University of Graz and Graz University of Technology. The range of courses is broad, interdisciplinary and cross-academic. Students have the opportunity to individualise their qualification profile and adapt it to their future career plans. This programme combines biology, medicine and chemistry. Students should be able to conduct basic and applied research and find independent solutions for questions relating to specialist areas of medical biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, structural biology and zymology. Accordingly, students acquire sound knowledge in all these areas. Developing theoretical knowledge goes hand in hand with laboratory work, in order to deepen students’ skills, working and analytical techniques. Besides acquiring specialist knowledge and skills, students develop essential key competences and soft skills. These include the ability to think interdisciplinarily, critically and analytically, written and oral communication skills, team work skills and the ability to employ information technology.
Graduates of the master’s programme Biochemistry and Molecular Biomedicine will have acquired comprehensive theoretical knowledge, working and analytical skills as well as problem-solving capabilities in their specilalist areas. They will be able to plan and conduct experiments while taking the latest research and newest technical possibilities into consideration.
